Mixed Media Tutorial and new Sheena Douglass Torn stamp sets

As soon as I saw the new stamp sets from Sheena Douglass, called “Torn” because they have the appearance of torn paper, I had the urge to do a mixed medial project with them. To view a step by step tutorial for this project, visit the Crafter’s Companion blog.

The center image and the flower, moths and leaves are from the new Sheena Douglass Torn collection. I colored them using Spectrum Noir markers. The background crackle patter was stamped over the images (instructions for this technique are in the tutorial), then spritzed with mists and airbrushed with Spectrum Noir markers.

Dimensional paints were then applied over the center image and all of the flowers, leaves and moths.

Visit the Crafter’s Companion blog for the complete step by step tutorial for this project.
