Gift Basket with Crafter’s Companion/Spectrum Noir Colorista

I just love my Crafter’s Companion Ultimate Tool and all the fun projects you can make with it! And I used some fun toppers from the Colorista range to kick it up a notch!

I made this cute little basked using my Ultimate Tool, and decorated the sides with some of the heart shaped toppers from the Spectrum Noir Colorista Watercolor Toppers pad, colored with the new Spectrum Noir Colorista Aqua pencils. A little touch of ribbon at the corners finishes off the basket very nicely, and it’s ready to be given as a gift with some little goodies for that someone special!

Spectrum Noir April Challenge

Sorry I’m late posting the new Spectrum Noir challenge! Life has been very busy lately, preparing for the holiday coming up and enjoying the birth of our grandson ūüôā

Spectrum Noir’s April Challenge is in full swing, and the theme this month is Photo Inspiration. You can also enter an Anything Goes category. See challenge rule for details.

I’ve used the flowers from the challenge photo for inspiration to create this cute little gift box featuring stamps from the Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners Victorian Floral Lily stamp set. The box was created using Crafter’s Companion cardstock and the Crafter’s Companion Ultimate Tool. The lily stamps were colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

Please join us for the April Spectrum Noir Challenge, we would love to see your entries!

HSN Colorista Sneak Peek

Jennifer Tryon of Crafter’s Companion will be returning to the Home Shopping Network on Tuesday, January 10th, and among all the new goodies she’ll be bringing are some new sizes of Colorista coloring pads, in 6″x6″ and 12″x12″.

These new sizes are perfect for all sorts of crafty projects. Below, I have colored a page from the Colorista 12×12 Exquisite Florals coloring pad with the Colorista markers, and used my Crafter’s Companion Ultimate Tool¬†to create a¬†box top out of it. I used Crafter’s Companion white construction cardstock for the box base.

For this box, I made the sides measure 1.5″, which leaves a full 9″ box with plenty of room for all sorts of precious gifts. The Ultimate Tool, which will also be available during the HSN event,¬†makes it so easy to create gift boxes in all shapes and sizes!

I used the second sheet of matching paper from the paper pad and the Ultimate Tool Springtime Sweets and Cupcake Treats embossing board to create a matching embossed tag for my gift box.

Be sure to tune in on January 10th! You don’t want to miss out on this fabulous crafty event!

Bluebell Gift Bag

Crafter’s Companion carries a beautiful line of coordinating floral stamps and dies from the very talented designer Sheena Douglass. They are so versatile, and from cards to gift boxes/bags to home decor, they make the perfect embellishments.

For this cute little gift bag, I’ve used the Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners Victorian Floral Bluebell EZ Mount stamp set and the coordinating Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners Victorian Floral Bluebell metal die set. The flowers and leaves were diecut out of Crafter’s Companion White Pearl shimmering cardstock, stamped with¬†Memento Tuxedo Black ink using the coordinating Bluebell stamp set, then airbrushed with Spectrum Noir markers.

UltiBagsEmbossingBoardFor the bag construction, I used the Ultimate Tool and the Ulti-Bags embossing board. Just place your cardstock on the board, use the included¬†embossing tool to emboss the design onto the cardstock, cut out and assemble. It’s a great way to make some quick and easy gift bags for those small gifts that mean alot.

Spectrum Noir markers used: Flowers –¬†TB7, TB4, TB1 Leaves – JG6, LG5, CG3

Window of Beauty

I fell in love with this Die’sire Classiques Mediterranean Window die when I saw it on the Crafter’s Companion website, and I immediately wanted to make a card using the diecut as an actual window to create a glimpse of¬†a whole new world on the inside of the card. For the card base, I used a double sided cardstock, scored and folded using my Crafter’s Companion Ultimate Tool.

The front of the card was created by diecutting and embossing the Mediterranean Window diecut out of Crafter’s Companion White Pearl Shimmering cardstock. ¬†I traced the diecut onto the card base,¬†cut¬†an opening slightly smaller than the diecut and glued the diecut into the opening. For the bottom, I diecut two pansies using the Sheena Douglass Perfect Partners Victorian Floral stamp and coordinating die set. The leaves were cut from green cardstock and shading was added using the Craftwell eBrush and Spectrum Noir markers JG6 and CG3. The pansies were cut from white pearl shimmering cardstock and shading was added using the eBrush and Spectrum Noir markers LV3, GB6 and CT4. The sentiment was a printable from the Morgan Fitzsimons Flights of Fantasy CD.

The inside of the card is a digital coloring image printed from the Morgan Fiztsimons Flights of Fantasy papercrafting CD, colored with Spectrum Aqua watercolor markers. A touch of Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle  was added to the wings for a little shimmer.

Spectrum Aqua colors used:
Skin – Jasmine, Peach
Sky – Aquamarine, Teal
Leaves – Bud Green, Moss, Sea Green, Leaf Green
Tree Trunk/branches – Sepia, Desert, Terra Cotta
Red Flowers – Chesetnut, Crimson, Burgundy, Scarlet, Rose Pink, Blossom
Pansies – Orchid, Gold, Fawn, Sunflower
Dress – Orchid, Wildflower, Magenta, Rose Pink
Wings – Orchid, Teal (plus Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle)
Hair – Fawn, Gold, Sunflower

Thank You Gift Bag

Today I’m sharing a cute little gift bag, perfect for that special little thank you gift¬†or¬†gift card.

For the gift bag base, I used a textured green cardstock along with my¬†Crafter’s Companion Ultimate Tool and the Ultimate Tool Ulti-Bags embossing board to emboss it and then cut it out with scissors. The patterned paper center panel was also embossed from the same board and trimmed out with scissors. Shading was added to the bag base and the center panel using my Craftwell eBrush and Spectrum Noir marker DG3.

All of the flowers and leaves were created using the Ultimate Tool¬†Springtime Sweets and Cupcake Treats embossing board and Crafter’s Companion Shimmering Cardstock. Shading was added to the leaves using my Craftwell eBrush and Spectrum Noir markers DG3 and CG3.

Using Black Pearl shimmering cardstock, I diecut the “Thank You” using the Die’sire Classiques Only Words embossing die and brushed on some Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle marker to add a little bit of glittery¬†sparkle.

Create a Box Card with Die’sire Edge’ables Dies

I have another tutorial up on the Crafter’s Companion blog, this one showing how to make and adorable box card using the Die’sire Edge’ables dies from Crafter’s Companion.

I created this card using the Die’sire Edge’ables Renaissance fancy border die. The topper inside is from the Crafter’s Companion Bebunni Floral papercrafting CD. The Always and Forever sentiment is from the Crafter’s Companion Vintage Floral Sentimentals Greetings stamp set.

I used some of the little heart pieces that diecut out¬†when cutting the Edge’ables die to decorate the inside of the card around the topper.

The tutorial for creating this card can be found HERE on the Crafter’s Companion blog.
