Sparkly Borders with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Markers

Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers are a fun way to kick your projects up a notch. You can take your projects from boring to Blingy with just a swipe of the Sparkle brush nib. I have a new tutorial up on the Spectrum Noir blog showing a very quick and easy way to create Sparkle borders using a Sparkle marker and a scrap piece of cardstock.

Live the Life You Dreamed

I love making my own backgrounds for my projects, and is so easy to do using Spectrum Aqua watercolor markers, an acrylic block, a water spritzer and a stamp or two.

Spectrum Noir has a tutorial on their website for creating backgrounds like these HERE. For this card, I used Spectrum Aqua colors Sunset, Gold and Yellow, following the technique shown in the tutorial for scribbling on the acrylic block, spritzing with water and pressing the cardstock to the block. Then I inked a floral background stamp with Begonia Aqua marker, spritzed it with water and stamped over the background colors. The floral stamp used for the center was a rubber stamp from Rubber Cottage, stamped on Spectrum Aqua watercolor cardstock and colored with Spectrum Noir ColourBlend pencils. Sentiment stamp is from the Crafter’s Companion Sentimentals Phrases stamp set.

Bridal Shower Celebration

My good friend Alyce Keegan, owner and coloring instructor at Kit & Clowder, recently wed her true love, Jon, and as part of an online bridal shower that was held for Alyce, Janice Collyer of Scrapper’s Delights created this beautiful limited edition bride image, complete with a bouquet enhanced with markers!

I colored her up using Spectrum Noir markers, and created a fun step card using my Big Score scoring board and an adorable bride and groom edge die from the Die’sire Edge’ables Bride and Groom set. The dress/suit edge diecut, plus the corner and flower dies, are all part of this set. Simply beautiful! To top it off, I used the Always & Forever die from the Sara Davies Signature Love & Romance collection for the sentiment,  and the heart locket and key die set called Key To My Heart, also from the Love & Romance collection, for the step inset panel. All of these dies cut beautifully using my Gemini die cutting machine.

I went clean and simple with this card, because I simply adore this stamp from the Sheena Douglass A Little Bit Festive Season’s Greetings stamp set, and Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers are the perfect medium for coloring the stamp and adding a bit of Christmas sparkle!
