I bought this inexpensive picture frame at the Dollar General store for just a few dollars and dressed it up with a colored piece from one of the 12×12 Colorista Exquisite Florals with Foil coloring pages, colored with Colorista markers. These pages are great for larger projects like scrapbook pages or gift boxes, but they also go along way if you trim them down to use on smaller projects.

I also made this card from the same 12×12 Colorista coloring page. I finished the edge using the Die’sire Edge’ables Floral Dance border die, which was the perfect complement to the floral coloring page.

And don’t forget that the theme for this month’s Spectrum Noir challenge is Use A Coloring Page, so if you color one up be sure to get it entered!

I created this colorful wonderland using a digital scenic stamp called Fairytale Bridge from Make It Crafty, and I added the Jasmine Unicorn digi stamp from Scrapper’s Delights. The scenery was colored with the new Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. The blending with the soft brush nibs is effortless, and the fine tipped nib is great for the smaller detailed areas. The unicorn was colored with the original Spectrum Noir markers.

New Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers

Spectrum Noir has recently launched a new line of markers, the Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers (currently available in the UK and coming soon to the US). I had a chance to play with them around the holidays and they are fabulous markers for design creation and coloring.

I wanted to try my hand at some drawing with the Illustrator markers, so I hand-drew this pinecone and evergreen branches. The soft brush nib at one end of the marker is perfect for coloring and blending, and I used the brush nib for the pinecone. The opposite end has a very fine-point bullet nib, which was perfect for fine details like the needles of the evergreen branches. I can’t wait to play some more with these markers and see what else I can create! 🙂

I used a coloring page from Spectrum Noir Colorista In Full Bloom With Glitter coloring pad. This owl was just begging to be brought to life with some color, and I obliged with my Colorista pencils and Colorista markers (glitter areas only). The sentiment is from the Crafter’s Companion Sentimentals Vintage Floral Greetings stamp set.

HSN Colorista Sneak Peek

Jennifer Tryon of Crafter’s Companion will be returning to the Home Shopping Network on Tuesday, January 10th, and among all the new goodies she’ll be bringing are some new sizes of Colorista coloring pads, in 6″x6″ and 12″x12″.

These new sizes are perfect for all sorts of crafty projects. Below, I have colored a page from the Colorista 12×12 Exquisite Florals coloring pad with the Colorista markers, and used my Crafter’s Companion Ultimate Tool to create a box top out of it. I used Crafter’s Companion white construction cardstock for the box base.

For this box, I made the sides measure 1.5″, which leaves a full 9″ box with plenty of room for all sorts of precious gifts. The Ultimate Tool, which will also be available during the HSN event, makes it so easy to create gift boxes in all shapes and sizes!

I used the second sheet of matching paper from the paper pad and the Ultimate Tool Springtime Sweets and Cupcake Treats embossing board to create a matching embossed tag for my gift box.
