Spectrum Noir February Challenge

The Spectrum Noir February Challenge is up and running! You can enter anything you color up with your Spectrum Noir products and submit it for a top honors award, and if you follow the bonus theme of Love and Friendship, you’ll have a chance to win a prize!

For my challenge inspiration, I used this adorable image from Saga Stamps called Celebrating Love, which I’ve colored with my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend Pencils. I used my Gemini diecut and emboss machine to emboss the “Love” embossing folder from the Sara Davies Signature Love and Romance collection for the background, and colored it using various distress inks. The sentiment was diecut using the “Always and Forever” die, also from the Sara Davies Signature Love and Romance collection.

How fabulous is this pretty Steampunk lady digital stamp from Scrapper’s Delights?!?

The digital stamp is called “Chastity Steam Punk 2” and I’ve colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers. The floral embellishments were diecut using Sara Davies Signature Collection Floral Delight In Bloom die set on the Gemini diecutting machine.

The “Live the Life You Dreamed” sentiment stamp is from the Crafter’s Companion Vintage Floral Sentimentals Phrases stamp set.

Seasons Greetings

Brrrr, we’re currently under a winter storm warning here in the US Midwest, snow is falling and baby it’s cold outside! But it also makes for the perfect time to wrap up in a blanket, watch a little TV, and do a little coloring with my Spectrum Noirs!

I just love this adorable penguin digi from Scrapper’s Delights! He’s called Penguin Willie North Pole, and he was so much fun to color!

I found some fun, festive candy cane patterned paper in my stash, and paired it with some Sara Davies Signature Collection Festive Wonder Snowflake Trio and sentiment Season’s Greetings diecuts. The border diecut framing the coloring was made using the Die’sire Decorative Dies – Enchanted Spring border die. All diecutting was done with the Crafter’s Companion Gemini machine. I added clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle marker over the sentiment for some winter shimmer.

Bridal Shower Celebration

My good friend Alyce Keegan, owner and coloring instructor at Kit & Clowder, recently wed her true love, Jon, and as part of an online bridal shower that was held for Alyce, Janice Collyer of Scrapper’s Delights created this beautiful limited edition bride image, complete with a bouquet enhanced with markers!

I colored her up using Spectrum Noir markers, and created a fun step card using my Big Score scoring board and an adorable bride and groom edge die from the Die’sire Edge’ables Bride and Groom set. The dress/suit edge diecut, plus the corner and flower dies, are all part of this set. Simply beautiful! To top it off, I used the Always & Forever die from the Sara Davies Signature Love & Romance collection for the sentiment,  and the heart locket and key die set called Key To My Heart, also from the Love & Romance collection, for the step inset panel. All of these dies cut beautifully using my Gemini die cutting machine.

Grand Entrance Mixed Media Canvas

I just love the new mixed media dies from Crafter’s Companion, and I used them, along with some other Die’sire dies, some paints and my Spectrum Noir alcohol and Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers to create this fun canvas.

I used some homemade texture paste and some Sheena Douglass stencils to add some texture to the canvas, then I airbrushed over the canvas using a variety of colors of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I added a little bit of dimensional paints in random spots for more texture. For the birds, branch, leaves and butterflies, I took some cardboard from a snack pack box and, using my Gemini diecutting machine, I diecut it with the Mixed Media dies. I then painted the diecuts with acrylic paints and added a coat of clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle marker.

The birdhouse was stamped from the Twit Twoo stamp set and colored with Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers. I added a few more leafy diecuts, and finished it with the gorgeous Create A Card Grand Entrance iron gate die cut. I added the Art Anthology Lava Stone Effects texture paint around the edges to transition it onto the canvas.

This was a really fun piece to create, and I can’t wait to get it framed!

Classic Floral Frame – New CAC die from Crafter’s Companion

Sara Davies of Crafter’s Companion is back in the US for another crafting event on the Home Shopping Network (HSN) Wednesday, July 6. She’ll be bringing the new Gemini diecutting machine, along with some fabulous new dies, including this new Create A Card Classic Floral Frame die.

Gemini and Together Forever Sneak Peeks!

Crafter’s Companion US will be back on HSN on Wednesday, July 6, and they’re brings some FABULOUSLY AWESOME new goodies!

Gemini Sneak Peek!

It’s almost here!! The new electronic diecutting machine from Crafter’s Companion, a.k.a. the Gemini, will be available soon!! I’ve had the pleasure of playing with this machine and I am in love!! The pressure this machine cuts with is top notch, and I’m getting much better embossing results with the Gemini than my other electronic diecutting machine. And this machine has pause and reverse buttons too! The reverse button is a great enhancement because if you are only cutting a small die or two or three, you can line them up at one end, run the plate sandwich through just far enough for the dies, then reverse it back out so you aren’t waiting for it to run all the way through.
