Wild at Heart on HSN Wednesday, May 2nd!

Crafter’s Companion is coming back to the Home Shopping Network on Wednesday, May 2, with lots of fabulous new crafting goodies! Among them are the new Spectrum Noir AquaTint watercolor paint pens. They are gorgeous colors in a new styled pen that includes a bristle brush, perfect for brushing and blending the watercolor ink.

Also coming are some beautiful new stamp sets, including this Wild at Heart stamp set, which was stamped here as a second-generation stamp (first stamped on a separate sheet and then stamped on the actual watercolor cardstock for a lighter impression), and then watercolored with the AquaTint pens. For portions of the image, I first scribbled the watercolor ink on an acrylic block and used a Crafter’s Companion waterbrush to pick up the color and apply it to the image. For the darker portions of the flowers and leaves, I colored directly on the image with the AquaTint pens. The floral border die is an oldie but goodie Die’sire Edge’ables Floral Dance die.

Tune in to HSN Wednesday, May 2nd for all the new products and demos from Crafter’s Companion!

Dreams Come True

CrIspSpring2015I absolutely love the Crafter’s Companion Crafter’s Inspiration craft kits, and the 2015 Spring edition (found HERE at Crafter’s Companion US) offers plenty of elements to satisfy your creativity! This edition includes a beautiful flower die, a stamp set, an embossing folder, a floral template, an instructional DVD and a papercrafting CD, plus a magazine full of tutorials and inspiration! I combined a few of the digital stamps contained on the papercrafting CD to create the scene for this card, printed it out on Spectrum Aqua watercolor paper, and colored it with my Spectrum Aqua markers. Details below.

Flights of Fantasy Sneak Peek

Today I am bringing you a sneak peek of a new twin-CD collection coming in a few days to Crafter’s Companion USA. The collection is called Flights of Fantasy by Morgan Fitzsimons, and will be available on July 24. This is a gorgeous collection of fantasy designs, from fairies and elves to dragons and unicorns, plus much more! In addition to digital stamps to color, there are pre-colored prints and topper sheets,  customizeable coordinating background papers, sentiments, card and fabric companions and so much more! I created this card using one of the digital stamps, colored with Spectrum Noir markers, and a coordinating background paper from the CD collection.

FOFELF13AJC2CCWMI colored up this elf image using Spectrum Noir markers (see below for color list). I paired it with the Sheena Douglass Wild Rose die set and the Die’sire Delicate Butterfly die, both available at Crafter’s Companion. I used Spectrum Noir markers in my Craftwell eBrush to add the shading to the leaves and flowers, as well as the frame of the image. I added some sprinkles of Fran-tage Aged Wine embossing enamel around the image to give it a “fairy dust” feeling.

Straight From the Horse’s Mouth

I heard it straight from the horse’s mouth that this stamp set from Sheena Douglass, available at Crafter’s Companion, was awesome! And boy, was he right! The ez-mount stamp set is called “From the Horse’s Mouth” and is part of Sheena’s “A Little Bit Sketchy” collection. I colored up the horse stamp with my Spectrum Noir markers using a flicking technique for hair, and used one of the sentiments from the set to create this galloping good card 🙂

I colored up this totally adorable digital stamp from Art by Miran with my Spectrum Noir markers, and used the tutorial to color the watering can to look like galvanized metal. Pretty cool, huh?
